Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the show reimagines the early lives of Elphaba and Glinda, exploring how they became the witches we thought we knew.
The creative team behind the production includes music & lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Winnie Holzman, direction by Joe Mantello, and choreography by Wayne Cilento. This edition features a cast led by Lencia Kebede (Elphaba), Allie Trimm (Glinda), Jordan Litz (Fiyero) and NaTasha Yvette Williams (Madame Morrible). With scenic design by Eugene Lee and lighting by Kenneth Posner, every scene is constructed for both story and spectacle.
Set in the fantastical Land of Oz long before Dorothy’s arrival, Wicked on Broadway centres on Elphaba, a headstrong young woman born with green skin and an exceptional gift for magic, and Glinda, her polished and ambitious classmate at Shiz University. Initially unlikely friends, their paths diverge after a meeting with the Wizard triggers ripple effects in their beliefs, loyalties and identities. As legends are formed and titles of “wicked” and “good” are assigned, the story challenges what you think you know, and asks: what happens when the line between villain and hero blurs?
Show timings for Wicked may vary every week. You can check the show timings for your preferred date at the next stage of booking.
