Forget everything you know about CATS, this is Broadway’s boldest reinvention yet. CATS: The Jellicle Ball takes Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical, based on T.S. Eliot’s whimsical poetry, and infuses it with the pulse of New York’s ballroom scene. Directed by Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch, and choreographed by ballroom legends Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons, this limited-run production at the Broadhurst Theatre is a shimmering, high-fashion spectacle. Critics call it “the most exhilarating fun that can be had in the theater.”
Once a year, the Jellicle Cats gather for their legendary Ball, where each cat shares their story in hopes of being chosen for a new life. Set in a magical, moonlit junkyard, the cats strut, sing, and dance, revealing their quirks and dreams. As the night unfolds, rivalries and alliances emerge, and the mysterious Grizabella returns. Who will be chosen for a new beginning? The answer awaits at the Jellicle Ball.
