Grammy-nominated singer Nicole Scherzinger is all set to extend her tenure as Sunset Boulevard's Norma Desmond, this time bringing her spark to the Broadway stage.

Sunset Boulevard is no stranger to Broadway, having opened at the Minskoff Theatre in 1994 and seeing a revival come to fruition at the Palace Theatre in 2017. Both times, acclaimed actress Glenn Close played the role of the fame-hungry Norma Desmond. Despite having to take on such an iconic role from an equally iconic performer, Scherzinger has proven her mettle and has earned praise for her rendition. And now, she gets to add another feather in her cap with a Broadway debut as the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical makes its way to the Broadway stage yet again, after ending its West End run.

When I grow up, I want to be famous, I want to be a star

Scherzinger's legacy begins with her time as a Pussycat Doll, an era which gave us the ambitious, fame-hungry tune, "When I Grow Up." The star would go on to prove time and time again that she was no one-hit wonder, and her unparalleled vocals were the perfect match for her musical ambitions. In Sunset Boulevard, she takes on the role of fading starlet Norma Desmond as she grapples with her dying career. But when opportunity knocks at the doors of her decaying mansion in the form of a young screenwriter Joe Gillis, played by Tom Francis, a spark is reignited and Desmond goes on. a journey of glamor and heartache.

Sunset Boulevard's limited 16-week West End run at the Savoy Theatre ended on January 6. It is set to make its return to Broadway during the 2024-2025 season.
