A Beautiful Noise set to play final note on Broadway in June

An ode to the life and work of Neil Diamond, the musical opened in 2022 and will complete over 650 performances when it closes on June 30.

A Beautiful Noise is a jukebox musical that retells Diamond's life and is named after the artist's 1976 album. It chronicles the humble journey of a kid from Brooklyn's rise to fame and the struggles that paved this path. Notably, the musical is set in fictional therapy sessions where Diamond, currently portrayed by Mark Jacoby, reflects on his journey to becoming a star as his psychiatrist, played by Linda Powell, reads out his famous lyrics from hit songs like Sweet Caroline.

And spring became the summer

A Beautiful Noise opened on Broadway in December 2022 at the Broadhurst Theatre. The musical crossed the first $1 million mark in the week leading up to the premiere alone, cementing itself as a show on its way to success. And success it did see, grossing over $60 million to date.

Yet, it also saw some bumps along the way, and with numbers waning, the show has elected to end its current Broadway run in the coming June. It will then embark on a North American tour, taking Diamond's songs out on the road once more.
