Sections available in New World Stages Stage 1

New World Stages Stage 1 Orchestra

Orchestra

  • 390 seats
  • Rows A–Q
  • With a total of 499 seats, most of the capacity at New World Stages Stage 1 is concentrated in the Orchestra section.
  • The Orchestra is divided into Front and Rear sections, with the Rear further split into Left, Right, and Center blocks for structured access and seating balance.
  • The Front rows are gently curved and maintain clear sightlines across the row. The Rear Orchestra, starting around Row K, sits under the Mezzanine overhang, which may slightly limit upward stage visibility.
  • Center seats in Rows C to H provide the most immersive experience, while Rear side seats are more budget-friendly.
  • Legroom is generous across the section, with additional space found in aisle seats and front rows.
New World Stages Stage 1 Mezzanine

Mezzanine

  • 109 seats
  • Rows A-D
  • The Mezzanine is a much smaller section that is elevated and raked, overhanging the Orchestra at Row K.
  • Seats in the front row, especially closer to the middle, will give you a clear view of the entire stage and allow you to see the performance without any sightline obstructions.
  • Seats in the rear Row D are generally the cheapest in the house.
  • The rows have steps between then but there are accessible step-free seats in the rear.

Value for money seats

  • Mezzanine (C-D): The rear row of the Mezzanine is the most affordable at this theater. With a steep enough rake that lets you see over the rows in front of you, you generally get a decent view even from the back. The middle rows also offer a decent view, though at slightly higher rates.
  • Orchestra (F-Q, Sides): The rear Orchestra offers seating that balances affordability with views. Center seats are great for clear sightlines, while the slightly angled side seats in the Left and Right subsections are generally cheaper.

Best views of the stage

  • Orchestra (A-E): The Center Orchestra will give you the best views of the stage with clear sightlines and no obstructions. The closer to the front you sit, the more immersive your experience will be.
  • Mezzanine (A-C): The front row of this section offers the best views of the stage, especially great for musicals. Since the section is raked and overhangs the Orchestra, you can also get decent views of the stage from the middle rows.

Accessible seating in New World Stages Stage 1

  • Orchestra: Wheelchair-accessible and companion seating is available in Rows P and O with step-free access. An accessible restroom is located on this level.
  • Mezzanine: Wheelchair-accessible and companion seats are in Row D with step-free access. There is an accessible restroom on this level as well.
