I had decent seats in the center orchestra, but under the mezzanine. The play was very good, and very well-acted. By "good" I mean that it was no Tennesse Williams play, but had an interesting mix of drama and comedy. The production recently moved from another theatre to the Belasco. I am unfamiliar with the theatre from which it moved, but suspect that it was a smaller house. Some, but not all, of the actors were not aware that they needed to project enough to fill what I suspect was the larger space at the Belasco during the more intimate conversations. Some dialogue was lost. Hopefully, someone will bring this to their attention. I loved both the sound and lighting designs, as well as the effects after the actors had left the story, showing the decay of the plantation house. Brilliant.
