The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre debuted in 1910 under Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and saw a significant makeover in 1958. It was completely renovated and renamed for the well-known performing duo Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. At first, a retractable roof allowed for outdoor performances, and various plays and musicals were presented there. Before being brought back to its former splendor as a theatre, it was converted into a cinema theatre in 1932. Today, the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, which combines contemporary conveniences with classical grandeur, is a tribute to its rich past.
