Ahead of its release, Bryne shared that while some of the tracks in the musical may be slower, most of the songs are based on what was usually played in discos and dance clubs back then. He also shared that DJs often referred to popular songs as the ‘arc’ of the evening and he wondered if it was possible to turn the ‘arc’ into a story.
