Palace Theatre Broadway
Since its grand opening in 1913, the Palace Theater has been the ultimate "I’ve made it" moment for performers. Back in its vaudeville heyday, gracing this stage meant you were officially entertainment royalty. From Houdini’s magic to Ethel Merman’s powerhouse vocals, this stage has seen the best of the best, including Judy Garland, Bette Midler, and Diana Ross.
In 1965, James M. Nederlander gave the Palace a Broadway glow-up with Sweet Charity, starring Gwen Verdon. The hits kept rolling with Applause (hello, Lauren Bacall), Man of La Mancha with Richard Kiley, and George Hearn dazzling in La Cage aux Folles. Fast forward to 1994, and Disney turned the Palace into a fairytale home for Beauty and the Beast, followed by Aida. From vaudeville legends to Broadway giants, the Palace has been the place where stars shine brightest.
