RuPaul's JIMBO earns praise as DRAG: The Musical's Kitty Galloway

Jenifer

The beloved drag clown and winner of RyPaul's Drag Race All Stars 8 debuted his Kitty Galloway on January 13 to much adulation.

JIMBO, the drag clown persona of Canadian designer James Insell, starred in three seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race. Despite a shocking elimination, JIMBO established a widely beloved persona through his outstanding performances before embarking on a successful career as a designer and the head of the House of JIMBO.

This drag clown is no one-trick pony, though, and his latest endeavor has been playing Kitty Galloway on Broadway's DRAG: The Musical. The role was previously portrayed by Alaska Thunderf*ck, who will return to the role following JIMBO's limited run that ends on February 7.

The musical, directed and choreographed by Spender Liff and featuring a book and music by Alaska Thunderf*ck, also stars Nick Adams as Alexis Gillmore, Liisi LaFontaine as Dixie Coxworth, Eddie Korbich as Drunk Jerry, J. Elaine Marcos as Gloria Schmidt/Rita LaRitz, Jan Sport as Savannah St. James, Jujubee as The Tigress, Lagoona Bloo as Tuna Turner, Luxx Noir London as Popcorn, Nick Laughlin as Puss Puss DuBois, and Adam Pascal as straight man Tom Hutchinson. Remi Tuckman and Yair Keydar alternate in the role of ten-year-old Brendan Hutchinson.

Catch JIMBO in DRAG: The Musical at the New World Stages until February 7 before Alaska Thunderf*ck returns to the stage as Kitty Galloway.
